Jeremy Swayman is taking his game to another level

As the Bruins have gotten off to an 11-1-1 start, they have been led by the best goalie tandem in the league. While the success of Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark comes as no surprise, Swayman has taken his game to another level. When the Alaskan native is net, the Bruins have been hard to beat.

In six games, the former fourth-round pick has posted a 2.19 GAA and .922 save percentage. Swayman has already added one shutout to his resume after only recording four during the 2022-2023 campaign. The Bruins are also undefeated in regulation in his starts.

Additionally, Swayman has been a saves machine. He has made 30 or more saves four times this season and has not allowed more than two goals in a start. That has given the Bruins offense, which has scored at least three goals in every game this season, a little margin for error.

One area in which the 24-year-old has shown considerable improvement in is controlling rebounds. Bruins' head coach, Jim Montgomery, has noticed and was impressed by Swayman's 35-save performance in his latest start against the Dallas Stars.

When asked by the media about Swayman's performance against Dallas, Montgomery said, "There was a lot of traffic, a lot of odd bounces, and he just seemed to track everything. The goals they scored were deflections."

While the season is far from over, Swayman's start has provided excitement for what the future holds. He will be relied on heavily as the games pile up and the Bruins look to make a deep playoff run.
